God Bless our Troops and Families

Eugene G. Haranczak, much loved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend, passed away on April 17, 2025, age 76.

Known to most as "Gene", he was born in Detroit to George and Sally Haranczak. He moved with the Family to Phoenix in 1960.

At the age of 19, Gene enlisted in the Army and was assigned to the 101st Airborne. He served in Vietnam from Dec.1967 to July 1969. After returning to the United States and assignment to a base, he received an Honorable Discharge in April 1973. He was a proud Veteran.

Upon returning to Phoenix, Gene found his calling in Woodworking, more specifically custom furniture and cabinet making. He took extreme pleasure in a job well done and had no problem suggesting changes for the benefit of the Customer. He spent many years working with his long-time Friend and custom woodworking shop Owner Mike M when help was needed.

Gene made many Friends and Aquaintances over the years, and made himself available when someone needed help. He also had nicknames like "Gomer", "Goober" and "Ya big dope" for some Friends (and you know who you are) which for him were meant as a term of endearment.

Gene's biggest passions were for classic cars (particularly his Cadillac), Woodworking and the annual Family Kielbasa-Fest.

Gene is survived by his wife of 45 years Patricia, his son Gene R. and his wife Shauna, his Grandchildren Kyler, Colby and Dylan, as well as 9 nephews and 2 nieces.

Although he is profoundly missed, we know he is at peace surrounded by his parents, brother Greg, son Randy-all of whom preceded him-along with close relatives and several good Friends.

Gene has been inurned at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona where his Parents and many Brothers in Arms are also at rest.
