Robert "Rob" F. Clark
May 9th, 1946 - April 14th, 2025
Robert F. Clark passed away on April 14, 2025 in Fountain Hills, Arizona from his battle with cancer. He was born on May 9, 1946 in Jordan, Montana to Robert and Frances Clark. His parents, brother Will, and wife Sherry, all preceded him in death.
Robert (Rob) is survived by his children, Illya (Matthias) Arnet (Switzerland), Emily Clark (CA), and Colin (Stacey) Smith-Clark (CA). Three grandsons living in Switzerland are Jarvis, Elias (Lorena), and Dorian Arnet, along with a great-grandson, Illian Nocera. Others are his lifelong friends, Carol Ofsthun (AZ), and Jonathan and Joanne Mielenz (TN).
He received his degree in Engineering from Montana State University in Bozeman, MT, and went to work for FMC in Pocatello, Idaho as an Industrial Engineering Supervisor. On August 24, 1974, Rob married Sherry Sharlene McCarty in Pocatello. From there, he moved his family to New Jersey to work in the Philadelphia office of FMC, and ended his career with FMC in Fridley, MN.
Upon retirement, Sherry and Rob built their home in Sun City, SC. They joined the Kayak Club, and Rob got busy making their wooden kayaks from a kit in their garage. Kayak trips in SC, GA, and FL, along with activities in their Aster Fields community, and Lifelong Learning classes at USCB kept them busy. Rob loved his golf group, and was the resident “fix it” man to anyone that needed help. He enjoyed traveling the world with friends and family. He cared deeply for St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, and served the church in many ways over the years. He also became involved with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) as a supporter and trainer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Luke’s UMC, P.O. Box 2779, Bluffton, SC 29910, designated to the Endowment Fund, or NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), NAMI Lowcountry, P.O. Box 2418, Hilton Head Island, SC 29925.
Join family and friends on June 13th at St. Luke’s UMC at 3080 Okatie Hwy., Okatie, SC, 29909 for Rob’s Celebration of Life Service at 11.
