Clifford Bruce Williams of Sun City Center passed away June 4, 2025 at South Shore Hospital in the ICU unit.  Born in Portsmouth, Virginia, he spent his early years in that state, before moving to southern New Jersey.  Bruce was very active in the Boy Scouts, and he also played baseball and ran track.  In 1968 he moved to Oklahoma City, where he was a 1970 graduate of John Marshall High School.   He briefly attended college before enlisting in the Air Force, serving from 1972 to 1976.  He attained the rank of sergeant and was a communications specialist.  Bruce's interest in communications and technology led him to work for several companies in data processing and telecommunications, including Hertz and JP Morgan Chase.  He took early retirement from Chase in 2007 because he suffered from advancing COPD and emphysema.

Bruce was an avid ham radio operator from an early age, and made contacts all around the world.  He also acted as an audio-visual coordinator at his home church, Trinity Baptist.   He made many friends in the church and was always willing to pitch in to help.  Though somewhat quiet,  he was very friendly and talked about all kinds of things with everyone he met.  Bruce had a true servant's heart and his smiling face will be missed by all those who knew him.  He was a fun-loving sibling, who delighted in telling them his latest jokes.  Above all, Bruce was a loving and dedicated father to his children, making many sacrifices for their benefit.

He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, and his parents, Edith and Earl Williams.  He is survived by his siblings Carl Williams, and wife Donna, of North Richland Hills, TX,  Erlene Sheldon, and her husband Bob, of Sneads Ferry, NC,  and Linda Ray, and her husband Tom, of Broken Arrow, OK;  his children, Chris Williams of Putnam, CT, Lisa Williams of Worcester, Massachusetts,  Erin Williams of Mascotte, FL, and Sara Williams of Hagerston, MD;  his grandchildren Liliana Garcia, Mateo Santiago, and Jillian and Mckenna Williams, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church of Sun City Center on Tuesday, June 10, at 10:00am, with Burial at 1:30pm at  Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Baptist Church.  Please visit the virtual guestbook below and leave a memory or photo.
