Robert Glenn Peot
March 1st, 1938 - May 8th, 2025
Robert Glenn Peot, lovingly known as “Coach Peot,” passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born in Pasco, Washington, on March 1, 1938, but proudly raised in “itty bitty” Kahlotus. Bob lived a life full of purpose, passion, and pride. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Margaret Peot; his sister, Patty; and his son, Terry. He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Bennett-Peot; his children, Steve, Kathy, and Michelle Peot; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great great grandson, all of whom were a source of joy and pride. Beyond his immediate family, he is survived by a vast community of friends and students whose lives he touched deeply through his coaching and friendship.
Bob dedicated his life to teaching and coaching, retiring from Edgemont Junior High where he inspired countless students. Basketball was his great love, and his greatest satisfaction came from guiding young athletes and making a difference in their lives. His impact as a coach and mentor extended well beyond the court.
He will be remembered as a die-hard WAZZU fan and his sharp wit and sense of humor. Bob was always ready with a joke—or more often, a well-planned practical joke. His playful spirit and mischievous grin brought laughter to family gatherings and friendships, and his humor remains one of his most cherished legacies.
In retirement, Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time in his workshop. He had a special passion for growing dahlias, which he proudly sold for just 25 cents each from a flower cart in front of his home—making sure they were affordable for anyone needing to impress, apologize to, or simply brighten the day of a loved one.
Bob also loved camping and exploring the open road with Judy in their fifth wheel trailer. Whether nestled in the woods or parked beside a scenic lake, those adventures were among his favorite ways to relax and spend time with the love of his life.
