Michael Martin Doyle
March 28th, 1951 - May 31st, 2025
Michael Martin Doyle passed away on May 31, 2025, at the age of 74 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Michael grew up in Freeport and Rockville Centre on Long Island. He attended Saint Agnes Cathedral High School in Rockville Centre and then went on to Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. He pursued a career in accounting and served in several positions with The Thomson Corporation in New York, Connecticut, London, England and Massachusetts. When a new opportunity presented itself in Raleigh, NC Michael and Lynn moved and lived there for 13 years before moving to Bluffton, SC.
Michael was an avid tennis player and participated in the game for as long as he was able.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn, of 35 years and by his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Tony McElroy of Eastport, NY and Stuart, FL and brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Pamela Doyle of Reno, NV as well as his sister-in-law, Sandra Van Alstine of New Westminster, BC. Michael's sister Kathy and her husband Bruce Gobbi predeceased him.
He will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews to whom he was affectionately known as Uncle Mike: Robert and Sharon Gobbi, Brian and Lisa Gobbi and Shannon McElroy of Long Island, NY and Heather McElroy (deceased); Tara and John Walker of Alpharetta, GA; Matthew and Jacquie Doyle and Christine and David Jones of Arkansas; John and Tina Doyle and Timothy and Karyn Doyle of Reno, Nevada; Evan and Martinique Cupit of New Westminster, BC and Linden Bouchard (deceased). Michael was also great uncle to David Jones of Nevada, Michael Jones of Arkansas, Adelle and Jake Cupit of New Westminster, BC and Jack Bouchard of Quebec City, Quebec.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 28 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 St. Gregory Drive, Bluffton SC, followed by a lunch reception in the St. Gregory the Great Parish Life Center.
