Milwee "Muff" Jones

Milwee “Muff” Jones was born in Columbia, South Carolina on August 12, 1924, and passed away on May 30, 2025, on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Milwee graduated from Dreher High School and attended Converse Collage where she was a member of the Converse Cottillion and Saddle Clubs. She also attended The University of South Carolina in Columbia where she was a member of the May Court, and secretary and rush captain of Chi Omega sorority.

Millwee married Dr. Harry Emil Jones and lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee during his years of medical practice. Muff volunteered for many medical related organizations during her years in Chattanooga and was happily married for nearly sixty years.

Milwee is survived by her daughters, Shirly Volberg of Virgina, Barbara Byrd of Hilton Head Island and Lynn Day Edwards of North Carolina, and a son Harry Jones, Jr. of Chattanooga as well as seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Milwee has lived at The Cypress and Preston of Hilton Head longer than any living resident. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution and was extremely proud of her southern heritage. She will be remembered for her sweet loving personality by all who knew her.
