Jerry Karl Julian

Jerry Karl Julian, a true Santa in Spirit, caught the last sleigh ride out on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at the young age of 72, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Jerry is preceded in his death by his mother Bernice C. Julian and father Dr. John F. Julian.   He is survived by his brothers John  Julian (Brad Harwood) and Jim Julian (Marian Julian).  Sisters Judy Story (Larry Story) and Jennifer Julian (Gail Strzepa), his Aunt Sara Williams Julian.  Jerry is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great grand nieces and nephews. Jerry had numerous friends and neighbors. 

Jerry worked for the City of Colorado Springs in various departments. He brought joy and laughter to countless lives—not just during the holiday season as a beloved Santa Claus for more than 25 years, but every single day of the year. With his flowing white hair, twinkling eyes, and ever-present smile, clad head-to-toe in red, he embodied the spirit of giving in all that he did. But Jerry didn't just play Santa—he lived the magic of kindness. Children and adults alike adored him, drawn to his warmth, generosity, and infectious humor. Beyond the red suit, he was a master electrician, a skilled builder, and a helping hand to anyone in need. He never turned down a project, whether it was rewiring a cabin, digging an outhouse hole, or building a deck. Whenever someone asked for help, his cheerful reply was always, "I am very handy!"  We will miss his bright spirit, his giving heart, and his brilliant sense of humor. Jerry made the world kinder, gentler, and a whole lot funnier.

The family will hold a private Celebration of Life for Jerry at a later date. 

The family wishes donations on behalf of Jerry to be sent to The Ronald McDonald House Charities and local animal shelters in Colorado Springs.  

Always believe in magic and keep Christmas in your heart. Rest in peace, Jerry—you truly were a gift to us all.
