Lodeen Rose Smith of Summerville, age 77, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025. She was born in New York City and graduated from St. Mary’s High in 1964. A Navy wife and mother, her greatest love was her family. She enjoyed reading, music, movies, and gardening.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband LCDR John Smith (ret.) and her parents Frank and Dollie Pelletier. Lodeen is survived by two sons, Tim Smith (Teresa) and Jude Smith of Summerville, a granddaughter, Amy Matthews, two great-grandsons, Christopher and Jared Harrison and two great-great-grandsons, Reid and Baylor Harrison, four siblings, Marguerite Rubertone (Joseph), Francois Pelletier (Shelley), Dermot Pelletier (Diana), J.B Pelletier (Dawn) and sixteen nieces and nephews.

 

A mass will be held at St. John's the Beloved, 28 Sumter Avenue, Summerville, SC on June 20, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Flowers can be delivered on the date of service, to the church between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. A bereavement luncheon will follow the service. Following the luncheon family and friends are invited to continue celebrating her life at her sons home, 231 Savannah Round, Summerville, SC.
