Kathryn Marie Lafontaine
November 24th, 1954 - June 1st, 2025
~Forever In Our Hearts~
Kathryn Marie Lafontaine was born on November 24, 1954, to Roy and Virginia (Kyle) Jutila in Duluth, Minnesota. She was raised in Cloquet, Minnesota, and grew up as the only daughter with 3 brothers whom she adored. Family was very important to her. Kathy was a retail worker. Kathy was united in marriage to Gordon T. Lafontaine in June of 1982. Together they had a son Gordon A. Lafontaine. She became a stepmother to her husbands 2 daughters and 1 son from his previous marriage. She loved them all as her own. In the summer of 1989 Kathy, Gordy, and little Gordy moved to Apache Junction, Arizona. In 2002 Kathy and Gordy moved to The Countryside RV Resort in Apache Junction where the would become beloved members of the community. Kathy enjoyed her community and photography and could often be seen taking pictures of owls, birds, flowers, Superstition Mountain and the sunsets. Kathy will be truly missed. Kathy passed away in the presence of family on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Ahwatukee Post Acute at the age of 70. The family wishes to thank the staff of Ahwatukee Post Acute for their exceptional care and much appreciated compassion.
Kathy is survived by her children, Gordy (Courtney) Lafontaine of Phoenix, Arizona, Laura (Russ) McMillen of Wrenshall, Minnesota, Lisa (Cory) Seboe of Wrenshall, Minnesota, Kenny Lafontaine of Wrenshall, Minnesota, 14 grandchildren; her Brothers Keith (Candyce) Jutila of Cloquet, Minnesota , Steve (Shelly) Jutila, and Scott (Beth) Jutila; and many other family and friends. Se was preceded in death by her loving Husband of 25 years, Gordon T Lafontaine; Mother Virginia Jutila and Father Roy Jutila.
A Celebration of life titled Kathy's Sunset will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. until the 8:30 p.m. at Prospector Park in Apache Junction, Arizona. Guests are encouraged to come casual to enjoy sharing stories and to Remember Kathy. The Sun will set at approximately 7:30 p.m. and will be viewed by all in her loving memory.
