Dan Adrian Wilsey

Dan Adrian Wilsey, age 81, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025. Born in Los Angeles County on November 5, 1943, to Adrian and Lora (Trafford) Wilsey. He spent his early years in Southern California before earning football scholarships to San Jose State University and then Fresno State University, where he pursued his degree in business administration. During this time, he also served briefly in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.

Dan married Victoria and settled in Redding, California, where they raised their two children, Daniel and Kristin. When the kids were young,, Dan and his family ventured to Missouri, embracing the challenges and rewards of farming life. Though the work was hard, those six years became some of the most cherished, marked by adventure and lasting memories. Missing their California roots, the family ultimately returned to Redding, where Dan lived the majority of his life.

In 2022, Dan moved to Sun City, Arizona, to live with his son, Daniel, where he enjoyed his final retirement years.

Dan had a passion for travel and a keen interest in culture and history. He especially loved visiting New Orleans and Costa Rica, returning often to enjoy their food, music, and people. A devoted San Francisco 49ers fan, Dan found great joy in watching games with his son. He was also an avid golfer, a master of crossword puzzles, and nearly unbeatable at Jeopardy!.

Dan was active in his local church and gave generously of his time to programs such as Meals on Wheels and as a golf course marshal, always finding ways to stay involved and give back to his community.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Kristin Mick; his son, Daniel Wilsey; and his grandsons, Colin and Gavin Mick. He is also remembered by his brother, Bill Wilsey; nephews Brent and Brian Wilsey; and his former wife, Victoria Seifert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Lora Wilsey, and his brother, Ron Wilsey.

A private family service will be held in Davis, California this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Meals on Wheels or a local charity of choice in Dan’s memory.
