Muriel Joy Bodine
April 12th, 1929 - June 1st, 2025
Our dear Muriel Joy Roberts Bodine (4/12/1929) passed away on June 1, 2025, in the memory care unit of Covington Senior Living Center in Lehi, Utah. As she had struggled with dementia in the twilight years of her life, she may now enjoy clarity as she joins those loved ones who have preceded her in death. These include her beloved husband of many decades - Olen Doyle Bodine, Sr, her mother - Ceylon Kopsa, her father - Ira Roberts, siblings - Ira Roberts Jr, Wesley “Buddy” Kopsa, Roberta Clymer, and Betty Kenney, granddaughter - Sabrina Marie Bodine Teasdale, grandson - Alexander Bodine, and great-grandson, Greyston James DeForest.
Prior to her time at Covington, Joy and Doyle enjoyed their retirement years in Loveland, CO in the same house her grandparents had retired to after homesteading in the Grover, CO area. Born in Denver, CO, Joy spent most of her youth in northeastern weld county, (Grover, Briggsdale, Hereford and Galeton. She graduated from Galeton high school). Not long after graduation, she was working as a waitress in a diner in Cheyenne, WY when she met the love of her life. In their years of marriage, they lived in Colorado, Texas, Arkansas, Arizona and California in multiple cities and towns. She worked in so many jobs while helping to make ends meet but was able to attend school while living in Hot Springs, AR, and she received her LPN nursing degree. Joy is survived by her sister, Donna Mae Hoke, her 8 children - Dale (Ted -deceased)Bittner, Joe (LeAnne), Dan (Anne), Faith, Doyle (Debbie), Jay (Jeana), Bill and Earla Feldman (Jerry), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joy is probably the most aptly named individual to have ever graced this planet! Under many difficult and trying circumstances, she found and brought so much joy to her family, friends, neighbors and strangers that she came across. Only in her waning years was this quality slightly dimmed - and probably more due to her diminished hearing than even the dementia. She will be dearly missed!!
