Robert Gustave Schnepp, 96, was born to Gustav and Emily Schnepp on December 26, 1928 in Huntington, New York.  He died peacefully on May 10, 2025 at his home in Elbert, Colorado.

 

 Robert joined the United States Marine Corps in 1947 and was honorably discharged in 1951.  He married his one and only love of his life, Mary Stella Saliba, on December 30th, 1950.  Robert defined his life as a loving son, faithful Marine and a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

 

Robert spent his professional career as a nuclear and conventional weapons research scientist.  Although his job took him away from his family for long periods of time, he was always a loving present and guiding influence for his family.  He enjoyed sharing many exciting (unclassified) tales of his life with his family and friends, spending time working on the family ranch, and cherishing his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Robert is survived by wife of 74 years, Mary Stella Schnepp, his brother Paul Schnepp, his son Tris, daughter Cathie and son Lance, his grandchildren Tiffany Pizzato, Brooke Schnepp, Cay McDonald, Elizabeth Geschke, Lettie Rawlings, Alexander Schnepp and great grandchildren Skyler Schnepp, Angelica Huston, Shelby Schnepp, Mia Schnepp, Haylen Geschke, Camden Rawlings, Oliver Rawlings and Ranulf Mcdonald, Balgair McDonald, Brichtrede Mcdonald,
