Ullrey Memorial Chapel
Milton "Butch" Gollenbusch, Sr.
December 19th, 1943 - June 4th, 2025
Milton "Butch" Gollenbusch Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and resident of Live Oak, CA, passed away peacefully at the age of 81, on June 4, 2025.
Born on December 19, 1943, to Dana and Doris Gollenbusch, Butch was raised with strong values that he carried throughout his life.
He attended Nuestro Elementary School and graduated from Sutter Union High School in 1961. Shortly after, he married the love of his life, Bunnie Gollenbusch.
Together, they shared 62 years of marriage, raising their family in Live Oak, CA, and building a life rooted in love, hard work, and quiet devotion.
Butch was a proud father to Milton Gollenbusch Jr. (LaDeana) and Kathy Walker (Scott); a beloved grandfather, "Papa," to Zachary Walker (Taylor), Anne Marie Howell (Elijah), and Cory Walker. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Josephine Howell.
His family was his greatest joy, and he took pride in sharing his time, skills, and wisdom with them. Whether teaching them how to fix just about anything or passing along his love for the outdoors, Butch's legacy lives on through those he loved.
An avid outdoorsman, Butch spent countless days hunting, fishing, and tending to his cherished vegetable garden.
He was a lifelong San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors fan, and found great joy in watching sports, especially when it meant cheering on his grandsons from the sidelines.
He also spent many meaningful years coaching Little League, first for his son and later for his grandson, passing on not just athletic skills but life lessons as well.
Butch was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his family and was blessed to enjoy 20 well-earned years of retirement that allowed him and Bunnie to travel extensively in their motorhome, including several unforgettable trips to Alaska.
His quiet strength, steady presence, and unconditional love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dana and Doris Gollenbusch; two older brothers; and one older sister. He is survived by his younger brother.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2025, at 11 AM, at Live Oak Cemetery, with a reception to follow at 225 Butte Ave., Yuba City, CA.
Spend a quiet day outdoors, plant something in your garden, or cheer a little louder at a ballgame in his memory.
