In Loving Memory

A Tribute to a Cherished Soul

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt respect that we announce the passing of Richard Anthony Naughton, a beloved member of our community, whose presence touched the lives of many. Born on May 18, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Richard lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those around him.

Throughout his remarkable journey, Richard excelled in numerous roles, embodying resilience, integrity, and compassion. Richard graduated from John Bosco Catholic High School.  Shortly after high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served our nation well for 23 years, to include two tours in the Vietnam war before retiring as a senior master sergeant. He was a civil servant at Schriever AFB working as an aircraft mechanic.

Working with his hands was what he enjoyed the most and he showed amazing ingenuity in repairing or fixing things with ingenious improvisation.    Whether as a devoted family member, an inspiring professional, or a steadfast friend, Richard consistently demonstrated a selfless commitment to uplifting others. His achievements were not only a testament to his hard work but also an inspiration to those who knew him.

Richard found joy in bowling for many years and competed in 26 years of the National Bowling Tournament. In his later years, golf became his passion where he played in the Springs Ranch Geezer League for over 20 years, a pursuit that not only enriched his own life but the lives of those fortunate enough to share in them. His laughter, wisdom, and gentle spirit will remain a cherished memory in the hearts of all who knew him.

Richard was preceded in death by the love of his life Darlene Josephine Naughton along with his  parents John and Florence Naughton, his brother John and his sister Jeanne.

Richard leaves behind his daughters Lisa Powell (George), Lynn Hager, and Kristine Joyce (George), his sisters Elisabeth LeFebrve, Patricia Nelson, and MaryKay Nowak (John), his grandchildren Riley, McKenzie, Austin, Colton, Dakota, Brooke, and Stephanie and great grandchildren Khaden, Carter, Kyngston, Quinn, Oliver, Greyson, Charlie, Ashlynn, and Piper who will continue to honor his legacy with love and gratitude.

Let us remember Richard not only in sorrow for his departure but in celebration of the remarkable life he led. May his memory be a guiding light, and may his legacy inspire us to live with purpose, compassion, and grace.

A memorial wake will be held on June 17, 2025, 3-5pm with the rosary at 5pm at Springs Funeral Services-Platte. The funeral mass will be held at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church on June 19, 2025, at 11am.  The internment will take place at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on June 26, 2025, at noon with full military honors.  All who knew and loved Richard are invited to join in honoring his life and sharing fond memories.

A reception will follow immediately after at the Church's Community Center

Rest in peace, Richard. You will be deeply missed but forever held in the hearts of those you leave behind.
