Frank (Francis) ""Frenchie"" Wolf
June 24th, 1947 - May 13th, 2025
On May 13, 2025, Frank (Francis) Wolf, “Frenchie” passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. Frenchie was a skilled master electrician and electrical contracting business owner. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father who reliably showed up for his family. He was a United States Coast Guard veteran and always wore a USCG hat adorned with pins—proudly.
A Chevy man through and through, he spent much of his life fixing up his old '52 Chevy Panel; his '67 Camaro SS and his five-window pickup were also prized possessions. His life was marked by integrity, hard work, and humor.
He will be remembered for his mentorship and quiet advice, deep knowledge of his trade, ability to fix things, and commitment to doing things the right way. Frenchie believed in passing on knowledge, never cutting corners, being reliable, and working hard. As he always said, “There are old electricians, and there are dumb electricians, but there are no old dumb electricians.”
Frank was born in Hays, Kansas, on June 24, 1947, the third of six children to Marcella and Alvin Wolf: Judy, Ralph, Gary, Charlie, and Debbi. The Wolf family later moved to North Denver, where Frank grew up. He often reminisced with his children about riding the bus and trolleys around the city, buying Coca-Colas for just five cents.
Frank’s early life was shaped by financial hardship, and like his older siblings, he took on jobs such as delivering newspapers to help support the family. He developed a strong work ethic that he passed on to his children. He often spoke about the importance of education, reminding them, “They can never take that away from you.”
Frank graduated from Westminster High School in 1965 and proudly considered himself a lifelong “Westy!” In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and married Jackie (Pyatt). Together, they moved for Frank’s Coast Guard assignments to Mobile, AL; then Jacksonville, FL; and finally Port Angeles, WA, where their first daughter, Sindra, was born in August 1968.
During his service, Frank was a helicopter electrical engineer and participated in intense ocean rescues. He often described being so far out at sea that the horizon seemed to vanish—an experience that stayed with him.
After being honorably discharged in 1970, Frank returned to Denver with Jackie and Sindra. He began working for Coors in the container division, where he contributed to designing and testing various can sizes and colors—some of which are still in production today. He was involved in several innovative projects, including self-cooling cans and canned cocktails. In October 1974, Frank and Jackie welcomed their second daughter, Jacquenette.
In 1976, Frank founded his own electrical contracting business, Sin Jac Electric Inc., named after his first two daughters, Sindra and Jacquenette. This company was one of Frank’s proudest achievements. Over the decades, he resolved countless electrical issues across the Denver area. He also passed on his trade skills to his children.
Though Frank and Jackie later parted ways, he remained a devoted and loving father, raising his daughter while growing his business and attending night school—all while continuing to work at Coors. His determination and perseverance during these years set an example for his family. He always wanted them to have “more” than he had growing up.
In 1985, he met Shawnee. They married in 1989, and settled into their current home in Wheat Ridge. Together they welcomed Amanda in September 1990 and Adam in May 1993. Shawnee became a proud stepmother to Sindra and Jacquenette, helping to blend a loving and supportive family.
Frank was endlessly proud of his children and their accomplishments. He supported their activities, attended field trips, and never missed a chance to cheer them on. He taught them to be independent, work hard, and chase their dreams—instilling the belief that grit and a can-do attitude can take you far.
Frank was deeply loved by his friends, family, and business partners, and he took pride in their accomplishments. He left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lessons that will be carried forward. He will be deeply missed—especially for his words of wisdom, encouragement, and advice.
Frank is preceded in death by his grandson Daniel “The Lion”; parents Marcella and Alvin Wolf; his sister Judy Wolf; sister-in-law Laine Wolf (Charlie); and father-in-law Dave Murphy (Carol).
He is survived by his wife, Shawnee Murphy-Wolf (Wheat Ridge); mother-in-law Carol Murphy; brothers Ralph Wolf [Sue] (Texas); Gary Wolf [Jo] (Florida); Charlie Wolf (Denver); sister Debbi Murphy [Mike] (Arvada); daughters Sindra Wolf (Arvada); Jacquenette “Jax” Jaramillo [Daniel] (Broomfield); Amanda Wolf-Hellwig [Travis] (Lakewood); son Adam Wolf [Ceslie] (Wheat Ridge). Frank was a very proud Papa to his grandchildren Kylar “Kai”, Halo, Raelee, Ollie, and Sage.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Clancy’s Irish Pub (7000 W 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge 80033) on June 29, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 5 pm. Services will begin promptly at 1 pm.
In memory of Frank and in lieu of flowers, the Wolf family has set up a donation through ABC – A Brighter Community, in honor of his daughter Sindra. Frank would be honored to see contributions go toward this program, which provides adults with disabilities access to Gold Standard services from highly devoted, educated, and caring staff. ABC focuses on skill development, goal attainment, healthy living, advocacy, and friendship.
