Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel - Payette
Juan Luis Cabrera
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Juan Luis Cabrera on June 4, 2025 at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell. Idaho. Funeral services will be held on June 14th at 10am at Westside Assembly and he will be laid to rest at Park View Cemetery in New Plymouth. A viewing will be held Friday between 6-8pm at Shaffer Jensen Funeral home in Payette, Idaho.
Juan was born to Pablo and Francisca Cabrera in Harlingen Texas. He was the oldest of 7 children. He had 4 brothers and 2 sisters. While in Texas he worked on the farms picking cotton and drove a tractor. He loved being outside.
Later he moved to Idaho and worked in the fields and eventually Henggeler Packing where he worked many years. He was known all around the valley as being a hard worker and making the straightest rows for crops. Something he was really proud of.
He had married before and with that wife he had 3 boys; Ezekiel, Israel, and Daniel. He then met the love of his life, Clara Martinez, and with her they had only one daughter Fransisca.
After retiring, Juan went back to school and graduated from TVCC with an associate’s degree. He then went to BSU and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. He loved his Bronco football team and also, the Kansas City Chiefs.
He is preceded in death by both parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 2 sons.
He is survived by his loving wife Clara, daughter Fransisca Huerta and husband Antonio, grandson Alejandro Perales and his wife Caitlin, and granddaughter Maddison Ruiz and her husband Luis; and adopted grandson Jeffery Wilson, and brother Eli and son Daniel plus numerous nieces and nephews.
John was very strong in his faith and witnessed as many people as possible because he did not want anyone left behind. God was the most important thing in his life besides Clara and Fran.
His legacy was his family, and the love he had for them. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him and his memory will live on through all the lives he touched.
