Marvin Tracy Gilbert
August 28th, 1966 - June 3rd, 2025
Marvin “Tracy” Gilbert. 58, of North Charleston, SC, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 3, 2025. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 27, 2025 at Riverbluff Church, 5421 Riverbluff Parkway, North Charleston, SC, with visitation beginning an hour prior at 10:00 am.
Tracy was born in Greenville, SC to William and Irene Gilbert. He worked as a roofer for over 20 years until a fall from a porch roof in downtown Charleston in 2004 eventually took his leg, ending his career. He was a staunch Republican who loved the United States and always wanted to take pictures of U.S. flags flying. He enjoyed fishing, cooking (especially crawfish), riding his bicycle, listening to music, watching sports on TV (especially when the Gamecocks or the Saints were playing), anything about New Orleans (NAWlins), and spending time with friends and family. He especially loved his cat, Tigger.
Tracy is survived by his sister Charlean Odom (Lee) of Jacksonville, FL; brother Jim Gilbert (Darlene) of Kernersville, NC; his sister Lisa Gregory of Dewy Rose, GA; and many cousins in the Easley and Greenville, SC areas. His pride and joy were his Goddaughters, Mary Teresa, Selena and Lizzy. He prayed often that they would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior as he did. He will be dearly missed by all of us.
