I left up my eyes to the mountains....where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalms 121:1,2
**Biography of Emily Hodson** Emily Hodson, born Selander on February 28, 1934, in Corvallis, Oregon, graced this world with her presence for 91 wonderful years, leaving cherished memories for her family and friends. She peacefully passed away on May 30, 2025, in Newberg, Oregon, surrounded by the love of her family and friend, Ruth. Emily grew up on a dairy farm near Wilsonville, Oregon, raised by her devoted parents, Alice and August Selander, who instilled in her the values of kindness, generosity, and loyalty. She had a close bond with her two older sisters and three older brothers, all of whom she loved deeply. A wife and proud mother, Emily is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Hodson, along with their son, Jon Hodson (Sandie Hodson) and daughters, Bev Baron (Terry Baron), Lois Haggerty (Bob Haggerty), and Rebecca Teraberry (Steve Teraberry). She thrived in her role as a grandmother to 16 grandchildren and took immense joy in her 18 great-grandchildren, enjoying them with love and delight. There are many nieces and nephews that she held dear to her heart. Emily's educational journey took her through Sherwood Elementary and High School, paving the way for a life filled with learning and community. In her later years, she enjoyed working at her local library and relished the various jobs she undertook while raising her children. Known for her sweet spirit, Emily loved hosting and attending parties, sharing laughter and warmth with friends and family. Her interests spanned from reading and gardening to sewing and treasure-hunting at thrift shops. She found tranquility in her coastal visits, where she delighted in a comforting bowl of chowder. Emily's memorial service is scheduled to take place at the West Chehalem Friends Church in Newberg, Oregon. Her family invites everyone who knew and loved her to send flowers or cards to the memorial site or to her husband at Avamere Assisted Living.
