Mary Beatrice Panetta

Mary Beatrice (Young) Panetta, age 90, died in Loveland, Colorado on February 17, 2022. Mary was born in Abilene, Kansas on August 26, 1931 to parents Bruce Waring Young and Helen E (Rutz) Young. As a young girl, Mary lived in Cheyenne, WY and her family later moved to Boulder, Colorado where Mary graduated from Boulder High School in 1949. Mary met Vincent P. Panetta and they married in 1951. She worked at the University of Colorado until her retirement. Mary was an avid reader and she loved to travel. She is known for hosting fabulous spaghetti dinners and she never met a dog she did not love. Mary is preceded in death by her husbands, Vincent P. Panetta and Kent Grimsley; her parents and her sister, Saundra Kay (Young) Stienmier. Mary is survived by her two sons, Stephen B. and Vincent Scott Panetta; her two granddaughters, Heather L. and Holly C. Panetta; two step-grandchildren, Nicholas (Christi) and Jessica Becker; four great-grandchildren, Grant R. and Lila O. Harris and Lucia R. Nelson; several nieces and nephews; and many friends including her lifelong friend, Hannah (LaSalle) Harper. In keeping with Mary's wishes, no formal service will be held.
