Though your earthly celebration ended, your spirit lives on in joy and love. Happy birthday in heaven!
Evelyn Grim Shepard went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2025, her 87th birthday. She attended Hills Chapel Church and served as secretary there for many years until her health declined. She loved cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends. She survived many tragedies in her lifetime, but was always seen smiling, and making everyone laugh.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her infant sister; parents; son, Larry "Smiley" Shepard; husband, Claude "Tom" Shepard; and daughter, Rhonda Quillen.
Survivors include her daughter, Renee Carter (Carroll); granddaughter, Holly Yokley (Tyler); grandson, Austin Carter; granddaughter, Rebecca Shepard; grandson, Logan Shepard (Hannah); two great-grandchildren, Miles and Erin Shepard; brother, Lloyd Grim; sister, Frances Bates; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Scott County Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at Shepard-Bowen Cemetery with Pastor Joe Hill officiating. Pallbearers will be Logan Shepard, Austin Carter, Carroll Carter, Bob Shepard, Junior Watts, and Randy Watts. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Humphrey and Tyler Yokley.
Carter-Trent/Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Shepard family.
