Donna Mae Hazel Curry passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born in Pine River, Minnesota, to Charles Ray Martini and Hazel Pearl Martini and grew up in Milwaukie, Oregon, where she graduated from Milwaukie High School.

Donna was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her sweet spirit, kind heart, and unwavering faith left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

In her early life, Donna married George Vernon Stinchfield. Together, they raised three children—Gary, Diane, and Ricky—while building a life rooted in hard work and family. In the 1970s, they purchased a 49-acre farm in Canby, Oregon, where they raised cattle and enjoyed the rewards of farm life.

In the 1980s, Donna remarried and found lasting companionship with her late husband, a 30-year Navy Veteran, Earl Edwin Curry, the love of her life. He loved all her family members as his own and supported them, as well as Donna, in all their endeavors and trials. They loved dancing, painting, and going on fishing trips together to the lakes in Central Oregon. Earl brought great joy and comfort to Donna, especially in the years following the loss of her children.

Donna was a woman of deep faith. With encouragement from her pastor, Gary Davis, she found renewed purpose through a homebound ministry at Canby Christian Church, where she read scripture and offered communion to those unable to attend services. This calling helped her navigate the grief of losing her children and gave her a sense of connection, healing, and love. She also volunteered for many years in the imaging department at Willamette Falls Hospital and was a welcoming, warm presence to all she served.

Her joy came from the simple things: bingo with friends (which she often won), road trips with her granddaughters to the Oregon Coast and through the Columbia Gorge, and reminiscing about growing up on a farm—riding her horse Prince, fishing with her brothers, and caring for her beloved chickens. She never tired of telling stories, especially the ones that made everyone laugh or reminded us of the strength and grace of her mother, Hazel.

But most of all, Donna adored being a mother and grandmother, and she shared with them her love of family and her passion for the Lord Jesus Christ. We know she will continue to watch over us from her place in heaven. Donna is now enveloped in the love of Jesus and her late husband Earl Edwin Curry, her children Gary Stinchfield, Diane Seeley, Ricky Stinchfield, and grandson Jason Michael Dietz, who passed before her.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Amy Estes and Heidi Shindler, and great-grandchildren Zoey Estes, Chevy Estes, and Paisley Reynolds. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Lois Stevenson, nieces RuthAnn Uggen, Loretta Baron, and Bonnie Johnson, and many other beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Donna’s life was a reflection of steadfast love, faith, and resilience. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will be cherished always.

Memorial service for Donna Curry will be held at Canby Christian Church Saturday June 21st, 2025 at 2pm.
