South Hadley - David Bruce Bain passed away June 4, 2025. He was born the son of Donald and Eleanor (Marion) Bain, in Holyoke, MA on July 28, 1956.  After living in South Hadley a short time, the family moved to Westfield where David was able to engage in all his outdoor activities.  Whether it was fishing, boating, skiing, whatever, he enjoyed them all.  After finishing his education at Westfield Vocational School, he joined the Marines for two years. Following his military time, he pursued his love of the outdoors by pursuing various careers. While still in Massachusetts, he was a long-haul trucker. After his marriage to Mary Lamica of Chicopee, they eventually moved to Florida where he became a heavy equipment operator.  A short period after their divorce he moved to California where he resided for the next 20 years.  David came back to Massachusetts in 2021.  He is survived by his former wife, Mary Bain, two daughters, Katie Bain and Kara Wood all of Florida and another daughter, Jill Young of Iowa, 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  His 14-year former partner, Suzzie Joplin of California, predeceased him.  David is also survived by his sister, Donna Robideau of South Hadley and close cousin, Patricia Petit of Westfield. Mourning him too, is his 9-year-old loyal and faithful companion, Kaya.  Also predeceasing David were his brother Donald J. Bain of Westfield, and sister Nancy Gordon of Holyoke.  David's decision was that all arrangements be private.
