Melbourne, Florida MAEVE ANN FERRARA née Griffin, 83, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7th, 2025 in Melbourne, Florida. Born April 29, 1942 in Dingle, Co. Kerry, Ireland to the late John Griffin and Johanna (Kane) née Griffin. Maeve moved to Boston in 1960 and married CMSGT Vincent Matteo Ferrara Jr. in 1964. Maeve and Vincent settled in the Melbourne area after 30 years traveling the globe with the US Air Force.
Maeve was preceded in death by her husband Vincent Matteo Ferrara Jr and son, John. Left behind to mourn her loss are her son Vincent, III (Susan), daughter Angela (Rory) McEllin; daughter-in-law, Amanda; and grandchildren, Marcus, Todd, Eleanor (Randall), Margerette (Flandre) Wolff, Amethyst, Nicholas, Lucy (Aiden), Oscar and Sophia and great granddaughters Irene and Elise; sisters-in-law Florence Holzmacher-Cuccia, Roseanne (Frank) Imperato and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 3:00pm at Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 N Harbor City Boulevard, Melbourne, Fl, 32935. Interment will take place on Wednesday, at 8:30 AM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, US1, Mims, Fl.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations if desired be made in Maeve's memory to Alzheimer’s Research or the charity of your choice.
