In Loving Memory

Pamela “Pam” Abercrombie nee Hendrix born August 25,1953 in Watsonville, California joined her savior in eternal life on June 2, 2025, in Palo Alto, California at the age of 71 years and 10 months. Pam was one of six children born to Jessie Mae Haynes and Hoyt Hendrix.

Pam was a loving wife and mother with a focus wholly devoted to her family. The centerpiece was the love of her life, her husband of 53-1/2 years Chris. Chris and Pam started their life adventures together in kindergarten, where she was the paste monitor and he was the boy that ate the paste. They reunited years later, competing in equine gymkhana events. Soon, they married and welcomed three children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, her dedication to family took her to local fairs, competitions and events where she always beamed with pride watching her family, never missing an opportunity to watch them do what they loved. She also loved spending time on the coast, going on trips to casinos, baking, cooking, and family reunions with extended family. Pam also enjoyed many social hobbies such as square dancing, league bowling, and the Red Hat Society. Over the last 5 years, she was faithful to attend Echoes From Calvary Church through livestream every Sunday.

Pam was a bookkeeper for Cutler Associates in Salinas for over 35 years and later volunteered at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for over 15 years. Pam had a smile and laugh that brought light to any room. Her presence was soft yet strong and she welcomed everyone she met warmly. In her final days, Pam was surrounded by the family that she loved so much as she received care at Stanford Hospital.

Pam is survived by her loving husband Chris; two children Kevin Abercrombie, Kristi (Tony) DeAnda; four grandchildren, Alyssa (Danny) Barrera, Andrew (Rachael) DeAnda, Adam DeAnda, and Abbie DeAnda; two great-grandchildren, James Barrera and Elijah Barrera; two sisters, Brenda (Tom) Pritchard and Jamie Haynes; Sister-in-laws, Shirley Oney, and Patti Hendrix-Pollard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pam is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Jessie Mae Haynes; Father, Hoyt Hendrix; sister, Denise Wethey-Hendrix; Brothers Darryl Hendrix and Dale Hendrix; precious daughter, Karen Abercrombie

Though the sting of her death is painful, her family takes comfort knowing that she is not in pain and that she finished her race with the same smile she constantly wore knowing that she wears it with her savior and those who have gone before her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Echoes From Calvary Church: 1025 Post Dr., Salinas, CA, 93907 on June 25, 2025, at 12:00PM.

Healey Mortuary

Healey Mortuary

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
