Mr. Stephen Michael Gilreath, 69, of Kernersville passed away on June 8, 2025 under the care of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem, NC.  Stephen was born in Freeport, New York. He was the son of the late William and Florence (Miller) Gilreath and husband of the late Eileen Gilreath.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Jessica Gilreath Miller (Joey), Cheryl Jensen (Lowell), Angela Curley (Chaise) and Derek Gilreath; his grandkids, Jacob, Zachary, Abigail, Ryleigh, Emily, Lowell, Thomas, Sloane, Quinton, and Parker; his siblings, Billy Gilreath (Cheryl) and Kathy Fisher (Don); and his brother-in-law, Kevin Cleary. 

 

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patty Cleary.

 

The family will receive friends at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services, 213 W Mountain St, Kernersville, NC 27284 on Saturday, June 28th, 2025 from 9:00AM-10:30AM.  Funeral liturgy services will be at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 616 S Cherry St, Kernersville, NC 27284 on Saturday, June 28th, 2025 at 11:00AM with Rev. Mark Mejias officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery in Kernersville, North Carolina.

 

Special thank you to Novant Health Cancer Institute in Kernersville. They helped keep a smile on Stephen's face and a positive outlook as he saw them daily. Thank you also to the Atrium Neuro ICU nurses and doctors and the KBR Hospice House.
