Billy Jack Nixon, 75, passed away with his daughters by his side on June 10, 2025. Billy was born on April 2, 1950, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After living in Oklahoma and California, he followed his brother Larry to Colorado, where he met the love of his life Erika and then spent the rest of his life building a legacy of hard work, family, and friendship.

A proud member of the Laborers Union, Billy dedicated his career to the construction industry, helping shape countless projects throughout the Colorado Springs and Denver area. He was known for his tireless work ethic, deep knowledge of his craft, and pride in a job well done.

In his younger years, Billy was a gifted athlete, playing baseball for the California Angels farm team. His passion for sports stayed with him throughout his life—he loved watching football and baseball. He enjoyed surfing during his time in California and bowling, golfing, and fishing whenever he could in Colorado.

Billy is preceded in death by his Mother Juanita Nixon, Father Eugene Nixon, Brother Arthur "Jerry" Nixon and loving Wife Erika Patz Nixon. He is survived by his daughters, Michele Switzer (Rick) and DeAnna Frasier; brother Larry Nixon (Ingrid), brother in law David Patz, and sister in law Ursula Simpkins. Also surviving are Sheri Husband and Christina Kotch to whom he helped raise and loved dearly along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Billy always had a wide circle of friends and family who will miss his big heart, easy smile, and generous spirit.

Billy never met a stranger—he made friends wherever he went and was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. His memory will live on in the many lives he touched, the stories shared, and the buildings that stand as a testament to his life’s work.

The family invites you to share a memory or raise a toast in Billy’s honor—just the way he would have liked.
