Diane Marie Spencer, 69, of Valley Village, CA passed away after a stroke on April 9, 2025.  Diane was a music lover and worked behind the scenes on various jazz projects over the years.  Everyone who knew Diane can attest to her friendly nature and desire to always do her best.  She was creative, fun, musical, and had a good heart.

Diane loved genealogy and was able to trace her family history back many generations.  Family trees sprouted and grew as time went on.  She also liked to help others on their quest to connect the dots. She also enjoyed making jewelry and created many beautiful pieces over the years.  She also loved to read, and it was hard for her to pass up a bookstore.

Diane grew up in Torrance, CA and was a Camp Fire Girl advancing from being a Blue Bird to a Horizon Club member.  She earned the highest award of the Wo-He-Lo Medallion. After grade school she attended West Torrance High School and played clarinet in the Advanced Band and was a Majorette during football season.  She also was an expert seamstress and honed her skills in Home EC classes.

After high school, she attended El Camino Junior College where she received an Associates of Arts degree and then transferred to C.S.U.L.B.  Diane later worked for American Airlines for 20 years and loved to travel.  She went all over the world and had many happy adventures.  Additionally, she spoke several languages which she used during her travel days.  Diane was a great cook.  She had a fascination with music, played the guitar, sang, and studied sound engineering.  Lastly, she also took design classes at the Fashion Institute of Los Angeles, created outfits in watercolor, and wrote poems.

Diane will be missed dearly by family, friends, and anyone whose life she touched.  Diane is survived by her sister Laura and many cousins. Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and “Arlene” Spencer.  She was laid to rest at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
