David Nicolaus
October 10th, 1942 - June 8th, 2025
David Nicolaus passed away on June 8, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on October 10, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to George and Dorothy Nicolaus. He had three siblings; George ‘Nick’, Barbara, and John.
David dedicated many years to public service. He served in the US Army traveling overseas and as a police officer in Mequon, Wisconsin starting in 1970. He was promoted to sergeant in 1974 and retired in 1984. Shortly afterwards, David joined the United States Postal Service and ultimately retired in 2014. David will be remembered for his quiet strength, devotion to family, humor-filled storytelling, and sense of duty. He is survived by his wife, Edith; children, Cindy and Brian; brother, John; and grandchildren, Jessica, Buddy, Carter, and Ryder. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service for David will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery, in Denver, CO on Thursday, June 26th at 9:00am.
