Donald Edward Roy, Jr.
June 13th, 1946 - June 7th, 2025
Donald Edward Roy Jr passed away on June 7th, 2025. Don was born June 13th, 1946, to Betty Martin Roy and Donald Roy Sr in Denver, Colorado.
Don graduated in 1965 from Lincoln High School in Denver, Co. In high school Don met his sweetheart, Terry Tucker and they married in 1966. Don and Terry were married for 57 years. In 1966 Don joined the Navy and spent 4 years "floating around on a boat", his words, and was honorably discharged in 1970. Don and Terry lost their first son, Donald Roy III, in 1966. Proceeding his discharge, Don went to Denver Automotive and Diesel College. They moved to Idaho Springs Colorado in 1970, shortly after they started their family. Terry gave birth to David Roy in November of 1971 and Donald Roy IV in March of 1973. With his entrepreneurial spirit, Don started Blue Ribbon Tire in 1975. Shortly after they moved 6 miles south of Idaho Springs to Blue Valley Acres. Over his career Don transformed his business from tires to fuel stations and Towing services. . In 1986 Don and Terry relocated their family and business to Loveland, Co. It was at this time they added another member to the family by adopting Sherri Roy. Don learned to be a very successful hunter over the years and was able to shared his knowledge with his sons Don and Terry lost their second son David in September of 2020. Don lost his love for life when Terry passed in 2023. Despite all his loss, he was still a loving, strong man. Don is survived by his son Don IV and daughter Sherri Roy. Don has 6 grandchildren, Mikaela Dipentino, Alisa Roy, Brooklyn Roy, Abigail Decker, Leahna Roy and Clayton Roy. He had one great grandchild, Stetson Decker. He is also survived by sister Kathy Jury, Brother John Roy and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday, June 28th, at 1:00pm at Ellis Ranch Event Center, 2331 Ellis Ranch Lane, Loveland, Colorado. Military Honors will start right at 1:oo pm
