Daryll "Hank" James Handberry

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Daryll James Handberry. As this was sudden and very unexpected, we ask that you give the family time to process this loss.

Known to so many as "Hank", Daryll was born on April 4th, 1968 to Cooper and Shirley Handberry, in Asbury Park, New Jersey. He passed suddenly on Monday, June 16, 2025. He is the 6th child of 7 children. He was a kind child who loved his mother and sisters so much. He is a student of the Asbury Park school system. 

He had his first child in 1985 and went on to have 6 others. He leaves behind 3 sons and four daughters. He also is the grandfather of over 12 children, countless nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was so very proud to be from Asbury Park, and though he has visited many other places, this was his proud home. He was a man who loved to travel and a huge sports fan.  He was employed by the state of New Jersey and the Union at the time of his passing.

His body will be able to be viewed at James Hunt Funeral home in Asbury Park, NJ on Friday June 20, 2025, beginning at 12 noon. The address is 126 Ridge Ave. Asbury Park, NJ. (732) 521-9230

His funeral will be held at Second Baptist Church in Asbury Park, NJ on Monday June 23rd, 2025. Services will begin at 1 p.m.
