Deborah Elaine Rumph
October 24th, 1932 - June 13th, 2025
Deborah Elaine Rumph beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away June 13th, 2025 at the age of 92. She was born in Newark NJ to Arthur and Lillian Goerke on October 24, 1932. Deborah was preceded in death by her siblings Margaret Honrath, Mary Goerke, Arthur Garkowski, and John Garkowski. She was also preceded in death by her husband Harry Allen Hallgring whom she married in 1949 and lived in Navesink NJ where they raised their children. She was also preceded in death by her son Kenny. She was widowed in 1968. She remarried in 1978 to Charles Rumph, who also preceded her in death, and moved abroad and traveled. They moved to North Charlston in 1985 where she remained until her death.
She is survived by her children Steven Hallgring and his wife Nancy , her daughter in law Patricia Hallgring, her daughter Wendy Hallgring Campell and her husband Rick, her daughter Nancy Gray and her husband Larry. She is also survived by her grandchildren Patrick Smith and his wife Audra, Sean Smith, Tim Hallgring and his wife Jenn, Andrew Gray and Kathleen Campbell. She leaves behind her great- grandchildren Padriac Smith, Kiki Smith, Caeley Smith, Tommy Hallgring and Gemma Hallgring.
She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Deborah was a homemaker for most of her adult life. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Boy scout Den mother, Girl Scout Leader, she sang in a female barber shop quartet, played the accordion and learned to play the banjo when in her 40's. She was a wonderful seamstress, knitter and loved to crochet. She made many things for her family. She also worked as a medical secretary. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of North Charleston. She requested not to have a service.
