Paul W Harter, 92, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Paul was born February 23, 1933, in Upper Augusta Township, PA to Florence Orwig Harter and Paul Weaver Harter. Paul graduated Sunbury High School in the class of 1951. A year later, he joined the United States Air Force, serving in Morocco and two bases stateside. After discharge, Paul returned to Sunbury to become a student at Susquehanna University, graduating in 1961. He was employed by Aetna Casualty and Sureity as an Underwriter in the National Accounts Department for 30 years, then worked part time for The Cameron Harris Agency. Paul was predeceased by his parents, his son, Lawrence R Harter and by his stepfather, Forrest R Ray (Sam). Paul is survived by his wife, Suzanne and daughters Robin Harter Wood and Autumn Harter and by his grandson, Derrick E Wood, PhD. The family will greet visitors Saturday 06/21/2025, from 1pm to 3pm at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment will be in the family plot in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam, PA. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Charlotte Animal Care and Control 8315 Byrum Drive Charlotte, NC 28217 in their Second Chance or the Community Spay and Neuter funds.
