Susan (Dunn) Dixon passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025. She is reunited in heaven with her husband of 39 years, Chris Dixon.  

Susan was born on October 9, 1958, in Passaic, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Robert H. Dunn and Nancy B. (Gross) Dunn, and the sister of the late Stephen Dunn. She is survived by her brother Jeremy Dunn; her sisters-in-law, Lisa Dixon Bugos (Mark) and Cindy Conway (Ed); her brother-in-law, Tim Dixon (Yvonne); seven nieces, one nephew, and a grand-niece; her beloved dog, Roxy; her dear friends, Holly Perry and Jim Seltzer; and a team of amazing caregivers who provided exceptional care and constant companionship over the past 18 months.

Susan cared deeply about her family and her community as was reflected in her life’s work.

She was passionate about her love for Chris and the life they shared at the base of Skinner Peak;

She was passionate about their dogs, Cassidy, Remy, Zoe and Roxy, who were loyal companions and brought joy to their lives;

She was passionate about Hampshire College where she earned her undergraduate degree and where she met Chris;

She was passionate about cooking and growing her own food, and for years kept beautiful vegetable gardens from which she would create wonderful meals;

She was passionate in her work to help migrant workers find a path to success, and earned a masters degree in social work to better serve this cause; 

She was passionate about gathering with her Book Group and Gym Chicks;

She was passionate about her community and the land where they lived, and worked alongside Chris, friends, and neighbors to successfully ‘Save the Mountain’;

She was passionate about finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis and gathered family and friends for many MS Walks, raising thousands of dollars towards research for a cure.

A private service will be held in Susan’s honor.
