Bruce Ryan Garey
July 19th, 1951 - May 19th, 2025
Bruce Ryan Garey of Eugene, Oregon went to heaven on May 19, 2025, from pancreatic cancer. Bruce was born July 19, 1951, in Astoria, Oregon at the Naval Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Bruce is survived by his wife of 51 years and teammate, Marshion, brothers Michael (Donna) Garey and Jim Garey of Redmond, Oregon and a niece and nephews.
Bruce served in the US Army, 23rd Infantry Engineer Division where his main task was mine sweeping and opening roads for our troops in Vietnam. He was awarded three commendation medals. Bruce loved the ocean, cruises to Alaska, camping, fishing, and putting puzzles together.
He retired from Weyerhauser Cottage Grove after 39 years as a stacker operator. Bruce and Marshion moved to Eugene where they’ve spent the past 10 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Eugene Church of Christ, 2424 Norkenzie Road on July 12, 2025, at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donation to the American Cancer Society, Prostate Research Fund.
