Phyllis Ann Saunders
January 19th, 1943 - June 19th, 2025
Phyllis Ann Saunders, 82, widow of the late Larry Saunders, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025. She was born on January 19, 1943 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Mildred Mootz and Clyde Jackson Nickell.
Mrs. Saunders was a graduate from the University of Kentucky, with a degree in pharmacy. Even though she had a few part time jobs to keep her busy, her primary work was her family. Mrs. Saunders was extremely involved in raising her children and running the household; that was her main focus for most of her life. Other than enjoying time with family, she was an avid reader and loved to take trips and travel.
Those left to cherish her memory includes her daughters, Lisa Saunders, Laura Johnston, Leslie (James) Sammons; son, Charlie (Marna) Saunders; sister, Mary Sue (Tommy) Amour; grandchildren, Justin (Morgan) Johnston, Jackson (Maegan) Johnston, Johnny Johnston, Jamies (Madisynn) Johnston, Joshua (Shelby) Johnston, Lydia Saunders, Miles Saunders, Tyler (Katlynn) Sammons, Kolt Sammons; great grandchild, Jase Johnston; and two great grandchildren on the way, Sadie James Sammons and Rafe Johnston.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 from 12-2pm at Clark Funeral Home, Versailles, followed by a graveside service at 2pm at Rose Crest Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be all eight of her grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude or the Woodford Humane Society.
