Barbara Jean Hill, 77, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on June 19, 2025. She was born on March 22, 1948, in Charlotte, the daughter of the late Isom Lee “Buck” Melton Jr. and Virginia Lenhart Melton.
Barbara worked for many years as a registered nurse at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. She also dedicated time to community service, including knitting hats and scarves for the Room in the Inn program at Avondale Presbyterian Church. She was an active participant in the Thursday morning Al-Anon group on East Boulevard.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Dunning, and son-in-law, Thomas Dunning, as well as her three grandchildren: Caroline Grace, Jacqueline Faith, and Genevieve Hope.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery, 6020 Prospect Rd, Monroe, NC 28112.
