Eva Jayone Allen (affectionately known as Tutu, grandmother in Hawaiian) passed away on June 19, 2025, just shy of her 94th birthday. Born on July 29, 1931, she grew up on the prairies of Northeastern Colorado, south of Brush. She graduated high school in Loveland Colorado and attended Art School at Colorado State University. She also lived in Fort Collins, Colorado; San Diego, California; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Vail, Arizona.
She married Reinholt Schneider in 1948 and subsequently William Allen in 1962. She had many interests and passions throughout her life. She was an avid rose gardener; every spring and summer, her rose gardens would bloom and grow. She had a passion for travel, the arts, theatre, painting, fashion and antiques. She enjoyed the birdsongs at dawn and the wildlife that passed through.
Tutu had a firm faith in Christ. Her relationship with God guided her through life’s challenges and joys, and her faith gave her the strength to face each day. While we mourn her absence, we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace, surrounded by the love of those who have gone before her, and will be reunited with her family in heaven.
Tutu is preceded in death by her parents, Vergil and Gretchen Teter. She is survived by her sons Steven (Reanee) Allen and Bradford J. Schneider; grandchildren Katherine Allen, Nicholas (Terri Lee) Allen, Elizabeth Allen and Joseph Allen; and great-grandchildren Natalie Orcutt, Madelynn Allen and Ripley Allen. Further survived by one brother Kenneth (Betty) Teter; nephew Brady Teter, and other relatives.
A private viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, after which Tutu will be cremated and laid to rest next to her parents in Colorado. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to your favorite charitable organization.
