Mementos

Philomena Puopolo-Vetrini left this past June 16 to go be with The Lord. Born in Italy, her family migrated to New Jersey, settling in Irvington. She moved to South Carolina recently after the death of her husband, Ray. Residing in Ridgeville, she passed peacefully in her sleep. Philomena was 100 years old. Orphaned at a young age she overcame the challenge of physical disabilities. She was a mother to two children, Henry Meyer and Joy Anzalone-Dolecki, both surviving her. Philomena was a devout Catholic and worked at the Rectory of St. Peters in Point Pleasant, NJ till her retirement. She was a BINGO enthusiast playing with her Bingo buddies every week. She was also a wonderful cook with a passion for baking. "Mena" as she was called, was compassionate and loving and would have given her shirt off her back if you needed it. A memorial service will be at her home in Ridgeville, SC on an undetermined date at this time. Future info for that will be announced. Instead of flowers please donate to the St. Judes Children's Research Hospital her favorite charity in her name. We know presently she has joined her husband, Ray in Heaven. BINGO! Philomena! You have won. She will be missed.
