Judy Ruth Heimdahl was born March 7, 1943, in Montevideo, Minnesota. She was a farm girl and liked to tell stories about her experiences growing up with farm machinery and helping her dad.  In 1961 she graduated from the Milan High School and left for the Cities to begin a business career with a job in a bank. One night on her way home on the bus, she was the only passenger so she asked the driver if she could drive the bus. He said “why not“ so she did and some passengers that got on later were startled.  This ability to make a connection with people around her was evident throughout her lifetime.

The next important move for Judy was to Alaska. In Anchorage she found work at Wien Air Alaska as a data processor. One really nice feature about the airline was it’s travel policies. Judy joined the Wien ski team and over the years was able to travel to places like Yugoslavia, New Zealand, Australia, Germany and points in between to ski with her friends at low cost.

When the airline went bankrupt, the oil industry was the next stop for Judy.    It was a boom or bust place to work but the pay was good, In 2004 she was laid off and was able to help her mother in Texas, On her way home she stopped in Milan, Minnesota, for the all school reunion. One of her friends in Milan was her steady boyfriend from high school, and they began to visit. Later, after she returned to Anchorage, and he to Spokane, their phone calls led to an in person visit and ultimately in 2005, Judy and Dick Jorgenson were married and they moved to Sun City.

That was when they took up golf with a passion. Many new friendships with other golfers was part of their active lifestyle.

Judy’s love to travel was shared by Dick so they have enjoyed trips that included Europe, China, and South America,

In 2016 they moved to Royal Oaks.

In 2023 Judy began her fight against an infection that had lodged in her lungs. On June 10, 2025, Judy passed away.   She is sorely missed.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Godfrey and Ruth Heimdahl, her sister, Janet and her two younger brothers, Alan and Lyle. Judy is survived by her husband, Richard (Dick) Jorgenson, older brother, Robert and her younger brother, Gary.
