Betty (Epp) Stoffel, Cambridge WI passed away on Thursday June 19th.  She was born July 2, 1943 in Chippewa Falls, WI, the daughter of Rudy and Myrtle (Svengaard) Epp.  She married Tom Stoffel on August 18, 1967.

 

Betty grew up in Eau Claire, WI, graduating from Chippewa Falls High School.  She attended UW-Stevens Point, transferring to UW-Madison to complete her B.S in Physical Therapy, in 1965.  As a result, she was an avid Badger fan and always bragged she 'bled Badger Red'. 

 

Betty work almost four decades as a Physical Therapist in the surrounding area.  Including Luther Hospital-Eau Claire, St Mary's Madison, Edgerton Memorial and Fort Health Care(including the Lake Mills Clinic).

 

Throughout her life she was involved in and supported many organizations.  She was appointed to the Volunteer Braillists, Inc. of Madison by the Library of Congress on July 22, 1976 and translated books into braille for many years.  She was a member of Cambridge's Friends of the Library during the opening of the first public library in Cambridge she also served as President and board member for many years.  She was a prompter for the local summer play group under Judy Brandt.  Betty was elected to several terms on the Cambridge School Board.  Her service was based on a desire to serve and effect change for the students of Cambridge.  Blood donation was a part of her civic mindedness and over 50 years gave 22 gallons of blood, plasma, and platelets to the American Red Cross.  She was Treasurer of the London Bridges Nursery School and was a volunteer poll worker.

 

She loved to travel, and always enjoyed her special group trips which included the New Mexico Balloon Festival and a summer road trip through Alaska. Her last trip was to Latvia in with closes friends. 

 

Betty is survived by her children Cyndie(Dave) Osgood and Eric(Dawn) Stoffel, grandchildren, Karissa, Kyle, Matt and Max, and 5 great grandchildren, brother Bob(Dian) Epp, sister Pat(Stan) Frank, sister-n-law Barb Epp, and nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephew.  She is also survived by dear friends Barb Fiandt, Chris Buswell, and Mara Tupesis.  Along with her special crafting groups in Alabama, the Sewflakes and the Knitwits.

 

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, her parents, her in-laws Ted and Agnes(McDonald) Stoffel, and her brother Rich.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 3:30 PM with visitation from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, prior to the service at Nitardy Funeral Home,1008 Madison Ave, Fort Atkinson, WI.
