Kent Raymond Feaster, 58 of Tumwater, passed away unexpectedly on June 2, 2025, in his home. He was born April 16, 1967, in Great Falls, Montana to Harold Roger Feaster and Betty Jane Johnson. Soon after, the family moved to Olympia, WA, where he attended public school, graduating in 1985 from Capital High School. He joined the US Navy and was a member of the honor guard company in boot camp. He spent his time at the Naval Hospital in Bremerton, WA where he trained to be a phlebotomist. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for improving the specimen collection process in the laboratory. He took those skills and spent many distinguished years at Memorial Clinic and then PACLAB where he would meet and fall in love with his wife, Tara Westlin, and have two beautiful daughters. Later in his life he also earned a bachelor’s degree in business finance at Evergreen State College and then started Feaster Insurance with Farmers. Looking for change and more stability he worked for the Washington State Healthcare Authority and at the time of his passing as an Estate Manager at the Washington State department of Veterans Affairs.

Kent had a lifelong passion for everything sports. He was a fierce presence on the softball mound and an avid bowler. He followed our local teams and hosted many Apple Cup and Superbowl parties in the family home. He loved to watch his daughters compete and felt it was important to attend so he could cheer them on. He enjoyed traveling and did so often with family on cruise ships or through their time-share destinations. Kent was also a master on the smoker and barbeque. He loved to cook and entertain. He had hoped to one day to open a restaurant or bar with his wife, where there would always be a place for friends and family to gather. He was also an active member of the Olympia Eagles.

Kent was a big family man. It was important for him to stay in contact with his extended family and even with the distance he tried stay close. He always looked forward to holidays, family game nights or TV/movie nights. He loved his daughters and was so proud of everything they did and who they’ve become. They were always able to rely on his helping hand, whether with schoolwork, advice or a crass comment to make them laugh. He bragged often about them and felt they were his greatest achievement.

Kent rarely met a stranger that didn’t end up being a friend, and lifelong friends were also like family to him. He and Tara hosted many gatherings at their home on the lake, and everyone had an open invitation there or at their house on Hood Canal. He was a gracious host and will be missed by people far and wide. He went out of his way to make people feel special; you always had a friend in Kent.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Betty, sisters Charlene Brown, Gail Reuthinger, Krista Feaster and stepfather Jim Taylor. He is survived by his wife Tara, daughters Annaliese and Alaina of the family home, sister Lynn Baier (Glenn) Deer Park, WA and numerous nieces and nephews along with extended family.

A service and celebration of life will be held at a later date. The announcement will go out on social media and the vast friends’ network.
