Her love extended beyond her family
July 24, 1963 - April 15, 2025
Marcehal Marie "Chelly" Fink passed away peacefully at home.
She leaves behind a family who will forever miss her—parents, Elenora and Dennis Jones; her children, Josiah, Elliott, Cameron, Sam, and Gavin; and her husband, Gary. Chelly’s siblings, Sherry, Michael, Zachary, and Heather, along with numerous nieces and nephews, will continue to honor her life through their love and remembrance.
A mother at heart, Chelly found immense pride in nurturing her sons, each uniquely talented and creative. She encouraged their artistic spirits and celebrated their individuality. Her love extended beyond her family, evident in her years as a foster mom and her dedication as an early childhood educator. Chelly also ran a daycare for many years, creating safe and loving environment where children could learn and grow. Her patience and passion for shaping young lives were apparent in everything she did, both at home and in her career as a teacher.
A lifelong animal lover, Chelly and her boys volunteered as puppy raisers for Guide Dogs for the Blind, instilling compassion and responsibility. She shared a special bond with her own dog, Griffey, whom she took on daily walks, and she had a soft spot for any stray that crossed her path.
Known for her remarkable baking skills, Chelly’s ginger molasses cookies were irresistible, and her fresh baked bread was a must have at any family gathering. Chelly had a passion for vintage treasures and antiques. She enjoyed simple pleasures, whether reading recipe books cover to cover, sharing stories, or bringing laughter to those around her.
And then there was blue—any shade, all shades of blue were woven into her world. Whether it was the soft turquoise of a treasured piece of porcelain or the rich indigo of a well-loved sweater, Chelly surrounded herself with shades that spoke to her soul. Blue was more than a color to her—it was tranquility, joy, and endless possibility. She found peace in the ocean's vast expanse, delight in the sky’s ever-changing hues, and comfort in the presence of blue all around her.
Chelly’s memory and spirit remain a constant presence in the lives of those she loved, as steady and enduring as the color she cherished.
