Jerry Martin
November 30th, 1951 - June 7th, 2025
MSG Jerry Wayne Martin, US Army (Ret.) 74, passed peacefully on June 7, 2025, in Denver, CO. born in Waverly, TN, in 1951. He was drafted in 1969 as part of the 101st Airborne Unit. He served proudly for 20 years, was a member of the Audie Murphy Club, and earned many awards, including marksmanship. He was a pallbearer for President Harry S. Truman and had Sergeant stripes pinned on by General Colin Powell. He patrolled the Berlin Wall on skis while in Germany during the Cold War(Iron Curtain) and served in Korea. He finished his 20-year career as a Drill Sergeant in Colorado.
He loved his family, rebuilding car/boat engines, music, bowling, playing pool, fishing, camping, and boating. He was an excellent mechanic and loved helping people.
He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ester Martin.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tiffany Martin, daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ricky Martin; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
