Robert "Bob" A. Kemple, 90, passed away on June 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on Dec. 27, 1934, in Springfield, MA. He was the son of Alfred Kemple and Sophie (Hajec) Drobot.  Bob moved to Belchertown in 2010 and previously spent most of his life in South Hadley, MA

Bob was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Shirley (Plouffe) Kemple, with whom he shared his birthday and a loving partnership of 66 years. Together, they built a family that includes two daughters, Roxanne Kusek and her fiancé Gerald Coderre of South Hadley, and Amanda Rodak and her husband Michael of Ludlow. He is also survived by his siblings, Patricia Ideus of IL and Stanley Drobot of AL and his cherished grandchildren, Colton Murphy, Parker and Abbey Kusek, his beloved dog Annie and many extended family members and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his uncle and best friend, Fred Hajec with whom he is now reunited.

Bob dedicated 26 years of his career to Mt. Holyoke College as a locksmith before retiring. He was also a call fireman for the South Hadley District 2.

Bob was an avid hunter; he served as an honorary director of the Chicopee Sportsmen's Club and was also a member of the Western Mass Dart League. He loved the outdoors and spent 26 years at Kenolie Campground in Vermont. Additionally, Bob had a profound appreciation for motorcycles, especially his beloved BMW's.

Visitation will be held at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home on Monday, July 7th, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a memorial service starting at 11:30 AM. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Belchertown Senior Center's Nutrition Fund.
