Maryon Emilie Wiesenthal was called to her heavenly family on June 23, 2025, surrounded by love and peace. Born on July 13, 1936, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, she was the cherished daughter of Lewis and Frances Davies. A proud 1955 graduate of Waukesha High School, Maryon went on to build a beautiful life rooted in family, faith, and community. On August 20, 1960, she married the love of her life, James Wiesenthal. Together they shared 47 devoted years of marriage before his passing in 2007.

Maryon was an inspiration to all who knew her. Gentle, patient, and always wearing a kind smile, she lived her life in service to others and with grace in her heart. A faithful servant of the Lord, we know she was welcomed home with the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Maryon had a gift for creating beauty in the world around her. Whether she was gardening, sewing, or arranging flowers, her talents shone through. Over the years she wore many hats with pride: a professional seamstress, swim instructor, Christian Education Coordinator at Evangelical & Reformed Church, and the proud owner and floral designer of the Olde Country Floral Shoppe in Sussex, WI. She also sewed purses under the name An Extra Tote. During her retirement she sold them at craft fairs.

Affectionately known as the “Gladiolus Lady,” Maryon spent many years growing and harvesting thousands of gladiolus on the Wiesenthal family’s 10-acre garden in Mukwonago. It was truly a labor of love shared with her family and enjoyed by many in the community.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Barbara (Mike) Sprecher, Ward Wiesenthal, and Laurie (Glenn) Fischer; her beloved grandchildren: Sarah (Matthew) Carl, Jon (Nicole) Sprecher, and James (Meg) Wiesenthal; and her four precious great-grandchildren: Logan, Quinton, Wesley Carl, and Garrett Wiesenthal. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Jackie Davies, brother-in-law Bill Wiesenthal, many nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends who will deeply miss her presence in their lives.

Maryon was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim; her parents, Lewis and Frances; her brother Dick; her sisters Barbara Elaine and Janey; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Chuck and Jean (Wiesenthal) Kolstad; and sister-in-law Joyce Wiesenthal.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 12:00 p.m. at Evangelical and Reformed United Church of Christ, 413 Wisconsin Ave, Waukesha, WI 53186. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.

Family is holding a celebration of life at a later date.

Maryon’s absence will be felt deeply by all who knew her, but her legacy of kindness, creativity, and faith will live on in the many lives she touched. We are all so fortunate to have been part of her story.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the incredible staff at Oak Hill Terrace—including the CNAs, doctors, nurses, and social workers—for their compassionate care. Special thanks to Allay Hospice for their support during Maryon’s final hours.
