With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Lee Hall Stapp, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who departed this life on June 23, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 71. Born on March 10, 1954, in Clovis, New Mexico, Lee touched the lives of many with his kindness, intellect, and unwavering spirit.Lee was the cherished son of James W. Stapp and Suzanne H. Stapp, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Shoshana Stapp; his stepdaughter, Sarah Ball; his sister, Lynne Stapp; his caring foster brother, Jeff Brode; and his beloved grandsons, Jordan Ball and Jacob Lee. Lee’s family was the centerpiece of his life, and he took great pride in nurturing and guiding the next generation.An outstanding scholar, Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico. He furthered his education with a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Arts in Special Education, both from the University of New Mexico. His passion for learning and teaching inspired many, and he dedicated his career to supporting children and families through various roles.Lee served honorably in the U.S. Army as a Personal Actions Specialist stationed in Ft. Greely, Alaska. His military service instilled in him a strong sense of duty and commitment to his community, traits that he carried into his professional life. Lee worked as a mental health care worker at the Children's Psychiatric Hospital in Albuquerque, where his compassion shone brightly. He also served as a neuropsychology research assistant at the VA Medical Center and as a special education teacher with Albuquerque Public Schools. His expertise extended to computer consulting and biomedical research, where he utilized his skills to make a significant impact in the fields of neuropsychology and education.Lee was an active member of the Temple Albert in Albuquerque, where he contributed to his community as a chair and member of the Education Committee for the Earth Day Coalition from 1990 to 1995, and as an adult adviser for Students of Environmental Education. His commitment to teaching and promoting environmental awareness showcased his dedication to the betterment of society.In addition to his professional accomplishments, Lee had a passion for the great outdoors. He found joy in hiking and camping, often capturing the beauty of nature through his photography. He was also a gifted poet, having published two books: "Where Only The Soul May Prevail" and "Roots of Passion." His words, like his life, resonated with profound emotion and insight.Lee was not only a loving father but also a role model to his daughters' friends, embodying the ideals of kindness, integrity, and perseverance. His legacy is one of love, learning, and dedication, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.As we gather to celebrate his life, let us remember Lee Hall Stapp for his unwavering spirit, his profound love for his family, and his enduring contributions to our community and beyond. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those he leaves behind.
