Lois Caroline (Streng) Schoenike
August 19th, 1930 - June 21st, 2025
LOIS C. SCHOENIKE, 94, of Jefferson, passed away on June 21, 2025 at her home.
She was born on August 19, 1930, in Helenville, daughter of the late George and Ruth (Burkert) Streng. Lois attended Duck Creek School and graduated from Jefferson High School. She married Merlin Schoenike on May 28,1950 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson where they were members.
Lois was employed at the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking and going to rummage sales and flea markets and traveling. She was a big fan of the Milwaukee Bucks and Milwaukee Brewers, as well as watching cooking shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune on TV.
Lois is survived by her son Bruce and his wife, Sue of Beloit; daughter, Debra Schoenike of Jefferson; one grandson, Barry and his wife Dawn of Belleville; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Carolyn; sister, Priscilla Harrison and husband Marvin of Jefferson, and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lois was preceded by her son, Todd; brother, Floyd Streng and sister, Mavis Heth and daughter-in-law Judy Schoenike.
A Christian Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Jefferson. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Final resting place will be in Rock River Cemetery in Jefferson.
Those wishing to express sympathy through donations may direct them to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Jefferson or Rainbow Hospice.
