Helenmary Chiagouris "Muffin"

In Loving Memory of Helenmary Chiagouris “Muffin”

December 1st, 1964 — June 23rd, 2025

Born in Chicago, Illinois, to loving parents Perry and Faye Chiagouris, Helen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Helen and Louis Shelley & Mary and George Chiagouris; her father, Perry; and her aunt and uncle, Helen and Louis. May they welcome her with open arms and hold her in their loving embrace.

Helen attended St. Felicitas Catholic Grammar School and Kenwood Academy Science High School in Chicago. She later pursued Veterinary Science at Texas Tech University, where she proudly walked on to the women’s basketball team.

A dedicated patriot, Helen served in the U.S. Armed Forces as a helicopter mechanic and remained active in veterans’ affairs as a member of the Women’s Warriors veterans group in Tucson. A resident of Tucson for over 15 years, she also played tight end for the Tucson Monsoon women’s football team.

Helen was a spirited entrepreneur who traveled extensively as a member of World Travelers Marketing International Cooperation. Her adventurous heart, dedication to service, and entrepreneurial spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted mother, Faye; her beloved aunt, Patricia; her cherished children, Olivia, Tyler, Demitri, and Jonathan; and her treasured grandchildren, Melina and Melanie. She also leaves behind many cousins and her loyal best friend and pup, Athena.

“God loves us all every day.  God has you in His keeping.  We have you in our hearts.”

Our family deeply thanks all our extended relatives, Helenmary’s two god sisters, as well as her many friends for their love and support during this difficult time. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Casa de la Luz Hospice for their compassionate care, and a special thank you to Father Gregory Rom, Father George, and Father Paul for your prayers and guidance.
