Randale Lee Sampson, 69, of Nickelsville went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Kingsport to the late Roy and Kathryn Sampson. Randale was a skilled carpenter as well as a brick and block mason. He also worked for many years as an over-the-road truck driver. Randale was a car enthusiast and enjoyed rebuilding, restoring, and driving classic cars. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed gardening and animals. Randale was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Sampson.
Survivors include his loving wife, Tommie; sons, Clayton Sampson and wife Kristi, and Jeremy Huss; daughters, Sarah Stallard and husband Robert, Kim Williams and husband Kelly, and Kristy Sampson; step-daughters, Sara Voltz and husband Shawn, Loralee Bartlett, Ashlee Huss, Kaylee Bair and husband Keith; step-son, Derek Huss and wife Betty; 21 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, David Sampson and wife Debbie; sisters, Janet Neeley, Jane Vineyard, and Judy Ketron; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10am to 12pm on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Roger Vineyard officiating.
A graveside service will follow at Holston View Cemetery with his nephews and great-nephews serving as pallbearers. Greg McMurray who was like a brother to him, will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Following the graveside the family would like to invite everyone for a meal at his daughter Kim’s home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Elite Hospice and Clinch River Health Services for their loving care.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Scott County Funeral Home.
