The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Psalm 37:23 KJV

Jackie Glen Ray, age 73, of Church Hill, TN went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2025. Jackie was born in Kingsport, TN on May 8, 1952, to Carty and Mollie Ray. Jackie retired from Kingsport Press after 32 years. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and his dog “little buddy” Jeremiah. Jackie will be remembered as a hardworking man that loved and cared for his family. Regardless of the circumstances he always kept his sense of humor. Jackie will always be remembered for his laugh, witty personality, and his faith especially, in prayer.

In addition to his parents, Jackie is preceded in death by 6 brothers; 3 sisters; and best friend Charles Jarrett.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years Linda Ray; daughters Patricia (Chad) Seaver, Tonya (Adam) Wright; the joy of his life grandsons Alex and Evan Seaver; sister Phyllis Amyx; and a host of extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 5 pm to 6 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home – Church Hill.

Celebration of Life will follow at 6 pm with Dr. Tommy Haynes and Dr. David Luster officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jackie’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
